Transport Policy, 1998, vol. 5, issue 1, 51-59
Abstract:
This paper examines the 11 major tolled road crossings in the U.K. It reviews the tolls charged and compares the crossings' economic performance. Associated policy issues are also examined referring to the policies of successive governments, and the increasing attention being paid to private finance. It is concluded that the policy, although consistent between governments, has been applied inconsistently.
