A giant step for mankind?

K. E. H. Göhring and J. F. Sibley

World Patent Information, 1989, vol. 11, issue 1, 5-10

Abstract: The authors are concerned that axcessively broad generic disclosures in the chemical patent area could lead to the breakdown of databases presently being developed to assist searchers. They review the decision published by WIPO under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) with regard to PCT application No. 87/04321 and study a few patents and patent applications which illustrate the problem.
