Computerized patent information processing in the All-Union Centre: The current state and prospects

Abstract: The development is described of the system for computerized patent information processing in the Scientific and Production Amalgamation (SPA) 'Poisk' ('search' in Russian) which is the All-Union patent service centre of the U.S.S.R. An integrated Computerized System of Patent Information (CSPI) was set up in 1976, which deals with the following services: (1) distribution of patent information in machine readable form; (2) computerized distribution of patent documents to users; (3) retrieval of patent information; (4) statistical analysis; and (5) computerization of document handling. Details of the organization of these services are given.
