The Italian patent office: Evolution and proposals for reform

Abstract: The article describes the difficulties which afflicted the Italian Patent Office in the mid-1980s, the steps taken to deal with the backlogs which built up, and proposals to improve the services which the office provides, particularly in respect of patent information.
