Abstract:
The importance of patent information is emphasized and changes needed in the patent systems of the world to ensure more effective use of patent information are suggested. These suggestions include harmonization of patent laws, automation of the use of patent information, and more effective participation by international organizations such as FID (Fédération Internationale de Documentation) in the work of WIPO committees.
