Intellectual property protection in the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India

Abstract:
The CSIR in India supports a network of 39 laboratories with about 100 extensions and regional centres throughout the country and the article describes the efforts by its Patents Unit to spread knowledge of the importance of intellectual property protection throughout the network. Small centres have been established in all the laboratories as an interface between the scientists and the Patents Unit to assist in the processing of patent applications and the dissemination of information.
