Some problems in the translation of Japanese patents

Abstract: This article describes some of the main problems and difficulties faced by translators when translating Japanese patents into English. As well as drawing to the attention of those who need to consult translated versions of Japanese patents the existence of such problems, it also considers how they can be minimized.
