Abstract:
It is essential for patent information professionals to select the best tools available for their project to avoid missing critical information. However, decision-makers often struggle with a lack of reliable background information and industry context when making subscription choices. This article describes a free wiki-based web resource, Intellogist, which provides objective information and expert opinions about patent and prior art search tools, as well as a forum for community discussion of these tools. In addition, the article will focus on the criteria used to produce the in-depth system reviews and comparisons offered on the site. Intellogist's increasing membership, traffic, and community participation statistics are also discussed.
