Abstract: This paper informs briefly on activities undertaken by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) with respect to the use of the microfiche A6. The use of the microfiche A6 as a micro carrier for patent information in the patent information system of the G.D.R. is described, indicating major advantages and rationalisation effects obtained by the use of this type of microform as well as possibilities to store and search patent documents on microfiche A6, particularly in conjunction with EDP.
