Observations on concordances

Abstract:
The limitations and pitfalls of using concordances are illustrated by examples derived from concordances between the German Patent Classification, the United States Patent Classification, the International Patent Classification and the Universal Decimal Classification. Also the author speculates about the impact of data processing methods on patent classification concordances.
