Australian use of patent information

World Patent Information, 1983, vol. 5, issue 2, 79-82
Abstract:
In connection with the current government Review of the Australian patent system, a large amount of survey data on aspects of the use of patent information by industry, engineers, and others has been assembled during the 1980-1981 period. Results show that major reasons for Australian use of information are generated by the existence of the patent system itself, and that compared with other sources of technological information, patent specifications are a relatively unimportant information source.
