Abstract:
The work load of the Australian Office increased sharply in the last six years. Existing computer facilities were unable to respond to the needs of the office. Six million dollars outlay are required to establish new systems using computer capacity of another Government Agency. Priority of tasks are patent and trade mark administration systems, trade mark searching systems, use of graphics in patent and trade mark searching. Objectives of the new system are to increase internal efficiency of the office and be more responsive to public users of status, searching and technology information in industrial property records.
