Educational measures in the use of patent information in the German Democratic Republic

Abstract:
The paper outlines the educational measures in the use of patent information undertaken by the Office for Inventions and Patents of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). It describes how other institutions of the GDR such as the Chamber of Technology and universities are involved in this respect. It is highlighted how the use of patent information in science and technology, especially in research and development is efficiently promoted by a wide spectrum of training courses and other educational measures.
