Comparison of search systems for online chemical patent searching

Abstract: The most important search features of Dialog, Data-Star, Orbit, STN and Pergamon InfoLine online services are compared with special attention to chemical patent retrieval. The reasons for online patent searching and the criteria for choosing the suitable databases and search services are discussed.
