The "Pegging Practices" of LDC's: A Look at Recent Behavior
Gordon Weil
Eastern Economic Journal, 1987, vol. 13, issue 1, 49-53
Abstract:
This note discusses the relationship between the exchange-rate pegging practices of less developed countries (LDCs) and their trading patterns. This relationship is examined through a discussion of the results of several statistical tests relating nations' choice of exchange-rate regime to their trading patterns. The paper goes on to investigate the importance of changes in trading patterns on changes in LDC exchange arrangements since 1977.
