Abstract: Decision making in an uncertain environment is a complex task for decision makers. Fuzzy multi criteria decision making methods are proposed in the literature where the subjective criteria and the weights of all criteria are assessed in linguistic variables since conventional methods cannot take into consideration the subjectivity and uncertainty in the decision process. Fuzzy ELECTRE I (Elimination Et Choix Traduisantla Realité) is one of the fuzzy multi criteria decision making methods for resolving the ambiguity of concepts that are associated with decision makers’ judgments. In this paper fuzzy ELECTRE I method is applied to catering firm selection problem of a textile company. By this way uncertainty in the problem has been considered and the most appropriate catering firm has been selected among the alternatýves.
