Alexey Kuznetsov
Economy and Forecasting, 2001, issue 4, 113-127
Abstract:
The article focuses on the macroeconomic effects when a country abolishes its national currency in favour of the Euro. The author shows that main additional costs from joining the European monetary union theoretically can appear on the macrolevel as a result of demand shocks, different fiscal systems and economic structures, different preferences of countries about inflation and unemployment etc.
