Oleg Bogomolov
Economy and Forecasting, 2001, issue 4, 24-36
Abstract:
The article considers economic globalization as an objective process of the modern stage of economic internationalization. The author uses the original statistical data to confirm the emergence of a new quality in the global integration of production and exchange. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of the asymmetrical distribution of globalization advantages. The article analyses its threats and risks for different groups of countries including the growing contradiction between globalization and national sovereignty. Disadvantages and contradictions of globalization put on the agenda the establishment of a new international economic order. In author's opinion, in the XXI century the world economy will face an urgent need to achieve the balance of interests between national states, their transnational corporations and regional organisations, to find solutions of the key global problems for the mutual benefit.
