Friederike Welter
Economy and Forecasting, 2005, issue 2, 123-135
Abstract:
Based on the results of a survey of entrepreneurs in Ukraine a gender analysis of the state and functioning of small enterprises is carried out. The evaluations of entrepreneurs of external conditions and main obstacles to start-up and development of small enterprises are generalized. The authors conclude that female entrepreneurs are similar to male entrepreneurs in terms of demographic characteristics and perceptions of external obstacles to business, but are different with regard to availability of resources to start business, level of investment and performance.
