Venture capital as a source of financing innovation-based economic development

Abstract: The author considers the role and functions of venture capital in solving the problems related to the formation of infrastructure in an innovation-based economy and speeding up the restructuring in favor of the high tech sectors. Considerable attention is given to special features of the creation and functioning of venture companies in Ukraine, as well as to the factors restraining the formation of venture capital and to the determination of the guidelines to speed up its formation in Ukraine as the basic source of investments into the small innovation business.
