Ekonomia journal, 2001, vol. 1
Abstract:
In the article the information society and the new economy, information economy and electronic economy were defined drawing attention to the basic features of these economies in terms of information economics. The information conditions of the so-called new economy were specified, drawing attention to the special meaning of the so-called electronic economy for the development of post-industrial economies. It was indicated that the necessary condition for the effective use of modern information technologies as tools and methods of conducting economic activity (and thus ihelectronic economylo) is the existence of a suitably developed information infrastructure of the state, society and economy and its high technological level. A model of such information infrastructure of the state and economy was presented. A feature of the ihnew economylu is the globalization of economic processes. From this results the necessity of integrating the information infrastructure of the state and national economy with international and global infrastructural information systems. In the case of Poland and other countries of Central and Eastern Europe this means the necessity of integration with the information infrastructure of the European Union as a condition of partner economic cooperation. The minimum and maximum limits of integrality of the information infrastructure of the state with external systems were specified. The practical problems of the construction of a model of information infrastructure indispensable for the development of the ihnew economyle and the role of the ihelectronic economylo as the technological basis of contemporary modern economic systems were discussed.
