Abstract:
The Mondragon Cooperative Group faces the need for reestructuring its organisational model and adapting its business strategies in order to respond to a new economic reality from the opportunities which have arisen as a result of the present dimension of the Group and with a view to the European market of 1993. These changes will involve facing the onset of a new phase in its development which, coinciding with the replacement of the men who have led management with vocation, success and exemplary style in key posts throughout the organisation of the Group with a new generation of managers, must find the right balance between the requirements felt by the generations of young people who enter the labour market and the business space which is neccesary for obtaining market shares and generating stable jobs in a highly competitive environment. All this without infringing upon the principles of industrial democracy, solidarity and work sovereignty.
