Estabilidad en el empleo, flexibilidad de los salarios reales y perturbaciones de demanda y de oferta en el mercado de trabajo

Abstract: This study analyzes the importance of salary flexibility as an instrument to ensure more job stability in a time when the job market may be shaken both by productivity shocks and by other shocks in preferences. In general, the results obtained confirm our initial intuition in that job stability is greater in cases of salary flexibility than in cases of salary rigidity, because, in this last instance, employment is to absorb all shock-related adjustments, whereas in the first situation the adjustment is absorbed both by salaries and employment.
