Tiempo de trabajo y crecimiento económico: análisis mediante descomposición en tendencia y ciclo

Robert Plasman

EKONOMIAZ. Revista vasca de Economía, 1996, vol. 34, issue 01, 128-153

Abstract: The objective of this paper is to see if the conventional working time demonstrates an exogenous behaviour -dictated mainly by collective bargaining procedures- or rather an endogenous behaviour in which economic growth is the main determinant of working time. Considering that both of these elements coexist, different sub-periods are defined for a dozen countries of the OECD based on the different manners in which the volume of labour is adjusted to economic context, on the elasticities of conventional working time with respect to economic growth, and on the different behaviours of the agents engaging in collective bargaining.
