Abstract:
This paper deals firstly with the work the Anti-Trust Court as refers to deregulation of the services sector as a whole and, secondly, with concrete proposals formulated by the mentioned Court with reference to ports in 1995. With respect to this last matter, various modalities of competition observed in the ports sector are analyzed: international competition, competition between national ports and competition within ports between the various companies that offer their services in them. The current situation of the ports is then examined closely and the proposals of liberalization formulated by the Anti-Trust Court are divulged. Finally, the paper concludes with a meditation on the new functions of port authorities within a liberalized context.
