Abstract:
This article discusses the effects on the youth labour market of two recent reforms that have affected the Spanish minimum wages: the process of equalisation of the Minimum Interoccupational Wage for all ages, which concluded in 1998, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement, signed in 1997. With this purpose, the authors synthesise the results obtained in recent research and provide new evidence that indicates that in either case the decisions taken may have turned out to be inappropriate.
