Abstract:
Empirical studies show that countries trade more within their borders than outside their borders. Moreover, some analyses for the US conclude that the domestic bias does not occur only at a national level as states trade more with themselves than with other states. This article analyses this topic comparing Basque Country’s sales to its own autonomous community, to the rest of Spain and to third countries. Our study concludes that Basque Country does not show any regional-bias in its trade.
