Abstract: This paper tries to estimate the monetary value of a quality adjusted life year (QALY). To perform this estimation by using willingness to pay, it is possible to use small health gains and large ones. We have obtained the monetary value of a QALY ranges from ¤9,000 to ¤38,000. However, further research is required in order to test the impact that the health status, duration, and, critically, order-effects, yield on the attempt of estimating a unique monetary value of a QALY.
