Abstract:
Using micro data from the Spanish Labour Force Survey and estimating with a log-it model, we explore the effect of immigration on the Spanish labour market, analysing the effect of a higher proportion of immigrants in the Spanish native¿s employment probability. Our results show that, given the available data and the Spanish economic situation analysed, there is no impact of immigration on the labour opportunities of native workers. After considering the intra-group correlation and performing the Moulton correction procedure, we conclude that the impact of immigrant flows in the Spanish labour market has not been significant at this time.
