Abstract:
In this article, firstly, we review panoramically the recent evolution and the current situation of the European policy to promote entrepreneurship and support SMEs. Then, applying cluster analysis techniques to a group of proxy variables, several homogeneous groups of countries are identified regarding their enterprising dynamism and the characteristics of their enterprise system. Finally, we consider the implications that the coexistence of several entrepreneurial models in EU has for the design of the European entrepreneurship policy.
