Abstract: In this paper is made a retrospective analysis of the Hirschman’s theory of «hidding hand» in relation to current theoretical thinking about risk. The discussion concludes that the Hirschman’s theory must be understood as an expost analysis of a decision process in a context of risk and is a useful reference to complement the new theories.
