Abstract: The topic of creativity emerged on the contemporary scene in the nineteen nineties, and has since imposed itself in organisational and institutional contexts and in the field of social discourse. Its origins lie in the particular political context of Blair-era Britain, and it has become an ever-present feature of the world of culture, the urban economy, historical heritage matters, the arts, entrepreneurism, design, etc. This article addresses the relationships between creativity and innovation and analyses the articulation between territories and universities based on innovation. In these times of creative cities and creative environments the article reflects on the role assigned to creativity and innovation in the world of the discourses and initiatives of public and private actors, with territorial marketing as one of the main vectors of its analysis.
