Abstract:
Employment will experience important transformations in the following years at international level and the Basque Country will not be indifferent to these changes. Even if trends such as demographic change, cultural diversity, work-life balance, changing work environments or converging technologies, are already today quite clear evolutions, other disruptions could transform unexpectedly the labour market: reverse migration, employees’ changing values or artificial intelligence and robots. Transferring the CEDEFOP projections to the Basque Country, a performance similar to the EU average would mean 27.000 new employments by 2025 (3%), 38.000 if the performance is similar to Austria and 55.000 new employments if it is based in the average foreseen for Spain (7%).
