Abstract: The phenomenon of Hidden Champions illustrates that also small and medium-sized companies can be successful world and European market leaders. This paper has the objective of analyzing the significance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Austrian Hidden Champions. The results of this study show that CSR is of high significance and a success factor for Austrian Hidden Champions. The companies conduct several activities in the field of CSR and gain numerous benefits from these policies. It must be emphasized that the manifestation of CSR in family-owned Hidden Champions vastly differs from how non-familyowned Hidden Champions practice CSR.
