Abstract:
This article studies the global context of the COVID-19 pandemic. It analyzes different examples of measures taken by some countries in order to stop the pandemic and the economic crisis that goes with it, and evaluates their results regarding the spreading of the disease and its economic consequences. It suggests that to take a step against the crisis, the lessons from the financial crisis of 2008 have to be taken into account in order to not make the same mistakes, lessen the negative effects and have better results in the long term.
