Abstract:
This article pays tribute to the work of Juan Noyola Vázquez, a renowned Mexican economist. It reviews his career as an innovative and committed scholar and researcher, as well as the legacy he has left in Latin American economic theory. In particular, it addresses Noyola’s contributions regarding the study of inflation and the theoretical confrontations on the subject between structuralism and monetarism, as well as the participation of the economist in the Cuban Revolution.
