Abstract: The article argues that there is a new form of imperialism in the 21st century, thanks to climate change, its anthropogenic causes—particularly caused by excessive exploitation by developed countries—and the impacts it is having, especially in developing countries. It criticizes the insufficient actions that rich countries have taken to combat it without really taking responsibility for its effects, in contrast to the great financing and policies with which these same countries promote the exploitation of natural resources, and with it the environmental deterioration and social and economic inequality.
