Abstract: Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to celebrate the sense of opportunity arising from realising that one is not trapped in a toxic job. Design/methodology/approach - Satirical poem. Findings - Deciding to leave a job can be uplifting. Originality/value - Addresses the relief felt when an unhappy employee resolves to leave a job that has turned sour.
