Abstract:
Purpose - The aim is to contrast two fictional responses to the increasing investment into Australian farmland by overseas interests within the context of an aging farming population. Design/methodology/approach - This is humorous fiction. Findings - A number of concerns are raised: vertical integration of Australian produce, availability of services to an aging population, and an aging farming community. Originality/value - This is a fictional story designed to provoke thought and discussion.
