Abstract:
Purpose - The purpose of this Editorial is to assess whether there is a need for a new academic journal in the area of Islamic and Middle Eastern finance and management. Design/methodology/approach - The Editorial discusses pertinent aspects in this field in order to justify this addition to the academic literature, as well as to explain the definitive areas covered by the journal. Findings - The main components of the journal's niche area include the following prime items: Islamic finance, Islamic management (both business and public), and management in the Middle East region (including North Africa). Originality/value - The journal represents another building stone in bridging the “great divide” of our time.
