Abstract: The article analyzes the main problems of the population with quality drinking water in Ukraine and abroad. Distinguished and classified the causes and factors of poor quality drinking water. A number of measures to improve water supply system, including the necessity of changing the structure of water management, which involves improving the tariff policy and the development of transparent mechanisms for the capitalization of rent income in the water.
