Abstract: We study the theoretical principles of state water complex in the plane of sustainability. Determined meaningful signs of the mechanisms of sustainable development and the factors influencing them. Formed algorithm activation of these mechanisms in water management complex of Ukraine, which provides for the allocation of individual phases with further characteristics of their influence. It is proved that in the period between elected activation steps should be a clear causal link, which should ensure proper logic of the process of sustainable development. Existing mechanisms of differentiated and identified potential indicators of their impact on sustainable development. The attention to adequate premises of these mechanisms.
