Abstract: The process of interaction and exchange of material between continents and oceans in coastal areas (DVB) creates a dynamic balance on environment, ecology and natural resource structure. Due to anthropogenic impacts and climate change, this balance is disrupted and leads to many negative consequences. The coastal area of ??Vietnam is located in the monsoon tropical region where large rivers with basins in six countries enter and the outer sea has ecological and environmental relations with the waters of many countries in the region. This is a very sensitive area and ecosystems, especially coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass beds, etc. very vulnerable to environmental impacts. Along with economic development and population growth, humanitarian activities have a major impact on the coastal environment. People, environment and coastal ecosystems are also affected by abnormal climatic and hydrological changes that have recently increased. Not to mention the risk of natural disasters, including volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis, has not been fully assessed. Environmental stresses and coastal catastrophes are generated not only locally but also from continents and oceans. Therefore, the strategy for coastal environmental protection needs to be viewed from the macro-relations of the continental-ocean interaction in the coastal region.
