Türkiye-Ghana Foreign Relations: A Comprehensive Analysis

Abstract: This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the diplomatic relations between Ghana and Türkiye, tracing their historical trajectory and examining the key events that have shaped bilateral engagement. Situated within the frameworks of foreign policy analysis, African Studies, and International Relations, this study adopts a multidisciplinary approach to investigate the political, economic, and cultural dimensions of this relationship. Particular attention is given to the domestic and international factors influencing the evolution of Türkiye–Ghana ties, with emphasis on trade and economic cooperation, diplomatic initiatives, and shared geopolitical interests. The analysis also considers the impact of broader global transformations—including shifts in the international political and economic landscape—on bilateral relations. In doing so, this study identifies both the opportunities and the challenges confronting Ghana and Türkiye in their efforts to deepen cooperation. By integrating historical and contemporary perspectives, this study offers valuable insights for policymakers, scholars, and practitioners concerned with the dynamics of international diplomacy and the emerging role of Türkiye in Africa.
