Abstract:
This paper aims to consider the possibility that a natural monopoly is maintained as such in the long run as a result of increased productivity caused by technological change. In parallel, we will discuss the relevance of implementing policies to encourage competition and free entry, in branches where natural monopolies remain as a result of technological development.
