Abstract:
Purpose: This paper analyzes the mediating effect of innovative behavior on the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention. Design/Methodology/Approach: Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used in a sample of 358 owners in medium and big companies in a textile cluster in Peru. Findings: Results show that there is a significant complementary mediation effect of innovative behavior between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention. Practical Implications: This finding is important in order to further advance the understanding of the direct and indirect causes of entrepreneurial intention. Originality/Value: Finally, this is especially important for understanding entrepreneurial intention in an extractive emerging economy.
