Abstract:
The following report deals about the Utopian character of the popular education project, advanced by Simón Rodriguez in Chuquisaca, High Peru, in 1825. In such a sense, a specific reference is made about the key aspects of the Utopian gender that appears outstanding on the political and educational thought of our philosopher-teacher. This journey allows showing that the insertion or connection of his educational proposal responds --in its genealogical perspective-- to what Marcuse denominated "concrete utopia" which gives information about those projects that seem impossible, but they are possible if they are mediated by historical random circumstances of the situation. They can be redefined in the environment of the impermanence which underlies to the force tensions of social contradictions. A nowadays glance to some reaches of the program, allows a wide reflection about the necessity of having a strong political-institutional support and of a wide capacity of social renegotiation. This point can support the educational thing as strategic planning toward the reform and transformation of society.
