Abstract: En este artículo se presenta una síntesis relativa de la teoría del principal agente y las teorías de la responsabilización para la dirección política y la gerencia pública su caracterización en el ámbito institucional de la Alcaldía de Manizales y las dimensiones de la gerencia pública y modelo apropiado para aplicar en Colombia.
