Observatorio de la Economía Latinoamericana, 2004, issue 31

Abstract: The industrial development’s specificity is not only a matter of evolution and capacities of adaptation in the regions, but also it looks for taking advantage of local conditions and creating relationships between the territorial model and the environment. The purpose of this article is to recognize the structural determinants of Colombian firms’ cycle of life, through a Panel that allows to build relationships among social, industrial, geographical variables and external sector, which interpret the cycle of life in 19 productive sectors and six Colombian regions.
