O turismo e o redesenho do território da Vila de Algodoal –Maracanã-PA

Abstract:
This paper will focus on the changes in the territory of the village of Algodoal-Maracanã-Pará-Brazil, resulting from the tourism activity. After some time visiting this place, tourists start buying land owned by locals, fishermen and small farmers. These tourists begin to build sumptuous summer homes, hotels and restaurants turning this place into a tourist product, initiating a touristification process and consequently a tourism territory. The owners of the tourist mode of production (owners of restaurants and transportation), shape the territory through a logic of tourist visitation. They create a contradiction in the territory, because where the tourist flow circulates there is a better infrastructure, such as pharmacies, supermarkets health, quality light, water etc., and where the flow of tourists does not go there, those items above cited not exist or do not work well.
